Celebrating a 600th Personal Point, collected on the Isle of Mull, and my ever-enthusiastic field assistants, Gwion and Madog seen here in the square that provided point number 500.[[[2108636]]] [[[1797067]]] [[[1469066]]]
Also, mention for my bicycle, which has proved its worth in a number of expeditions by combining speed with ease of access to remote locations.
My Canon Powershot 710 camera is still going strong, and GPS with an ETrexH is fantastic for prompt location fixing. The GPS has been indispensable on recent, fascinating trips to Germany, and to Ireland, where the Discovery series of OSI maps at 1:50,000 include much less detail than is customary on our own OS maps, and where the Google squares are terribly inaccurate for less-populated coastal areas.
Geology and landscape are my passion, so it's on with the exploring in company with my trusty spaniels.
