Noirmont Quarry
Flooded granite quarry close to Guernsey's north-east coast. The fresh water was drained and the coastal area was cleared of rubbish and weeds. It was refilled with saltwater (1972) and Guernsey Sea Farms, a specialist hatchery and nursery for shellfish, including oysters, was born.
